We all want to be successful and prosperous – right?
Who wouldn’t want to?
The question is – what do you class as success and what do you class as prosperity.
Is getting a new car every 2 years success? is earning over $100,000 a year success? Is having a beautiful wife or handsome husband and kids who manage to not go to jail success? Is keeping up with everything the guy next door buys success?
Joshua 1:8 (NIV)
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
The bible tells us that this earth will pass away. If your success and prosperity is in material things then, eventually, it’s all going to burn…. and then where will you be?
Joshua 1:8 tells us something very interesting. It says to read your bible every day, constantly think about what you read and think about what you are doing so you can ensure that you do what the bible tells you is right. Then you will be successful and prosperous – n the Kingdom of God
We point our faces toward our career’s and focus on building worldly success and prosperity but the bible tells us to focus our eyes on God instead and those things will come – from Him. Maybe they won’t come in the way that the world expects or gets excited about but what would you rather have, prosperity here or prosperity in the eternal kingdom?
Luke 12:33-34 (NIV)
Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
