Over the hump now! It’s downhill from here.
We’re past the halfway point. You can do this!
Finish well!
Speaking of which….
What happens when we do finish? What is the end? What was the point?
This challenge has been all about stepping outside of your normal boundaries but it has been more about not just ‘doing’ church but being the Church.
What’s the difference?
Well, when ‘do’ church, we simply follow a bunch of rules. We go to a certain place at a certain time and act in a certain way, doing and saying all the right things at all the right times…. but that’s about it. We don’t truly engage in our faith, we go through the motions, doing all the stuff people expect us to do but that’s about as far as it goes.
When we are being the Church, what other people expect from us is not so important to us. Instead we focus on what God is calling us to do and our relationship with Him is more important to us than following traditions.
The difference can be subtle. We can still be fully involved in church in the way that people who ‘do’ church are while still being the church. This challenge has been about being the Church. Being people who listen to God and obey regardless of what other people think.
So the question is… at the end of the challenge, are you going to stop being the Church and go back to ‘doing’ church?
What the Challenge is showing you is what it means to die to yourself daily. What you’re seeing is what it’s like to get up every day and give your day to God, to be willing to do whatever He calls you to that day.
It’s easy to tell God that you’ll do anything He asks but then putting that into practice and listening through the day to what He asks you to do is a whole different matter.
The idea of the Challenge is to change your way of thinking, to make it so that every day you are listening to God and acting on what He asks of you… the challenge now is will you stop at 12 days or will you continue?
With regards to your question about the aim I believe there are two ways to be neighbours:
FRIENDS
A friend is a person
by whom one is two,
if not many abiding
in that which is true
making neighbours together
by fall or by will.
Love your friend as yourself:
Love The Son and fulfil.
INVITATION
Invited hereby to my site
please be. You see I poems write
and knight like fight and youth alight.
This poem says it. Godly, right?
I want more readers. I want you
to come as if out from the blue
and tell me what I write is true
and make my motivation new.
Why you? This is not spam, God’s dear.
I stand by what I do. I care.
Your senseless love to me I fear.
I mean it. I am good. Take care.
