This is a very busy weekend so just a lightning-fast post today.
I was sitting at a wedding rehearsal yesterday, bored out of my mind, and decided to google the definition of worship.
This is what Google came up with:
to love unquestioningly and uncritically or to excess
(definition taken from WordNet)
Do you live a life of worship to God?
Does your life show an unquestioning, uncritical, excessive love of Jesus Christ?
Is that even how you approach worship at ‘church’?
… just something to ponder today.
Wow. I really want to, and there are moments where I think I get close. But not nearly enough.
Oh man I love to worship God with my everything! It’s not always easy in the valleys but I try my best. God has been teaching me lately that Love is not a feeling but something we do. I know sometimes I find it hard to pray and/or worship depending on what is going on at the moment, but I am really trying to love Him with my all, no matter what. Kind of like a spouse or child, we have to love them even in the bad times. Its a choice, it’s sometimes hard, but we always grow better from it. Blessing Peter! May you love and worship much!!! Robin
I would add this question, “what are the prerequisites” or disposition that allows us to partake of and enter this wonderful place of being empty to self and allocating all that is within us to worship God.
I even suppose the answer to this question is personal in part. Worship is both singular and plural.
Great definition. It’s all about Him- for me, some are good days and some are bad. As Paul said, why do I do what I don’t want to do?
