Blogiversary – twitter fun

givingWelcome to my one year blogiversary giveaway!

If you’re new here, you might want to check out this post to catch up on what’s going on.

The danger with doing a big blog giveaway like this is that it can seem self-serving.

That is not my desire at all.

Sure, I want more readers. Sure, I’d like a literary agent and a book contract! However, I realised a little while ago that those things will come if God wants them to but right now I have other things to concentrate on – like Rediscovering the Church, for instance.

Check out my post from last week on Giving to Give to get some idea where I’m coming from on this.

This whole giveaway is to give back to my readers, promote some great books and maybe even introduce some people to new blogs that they can learn from and be encouraged by.

Here’s an idea of some of the books I’m giving away:

  • 5 copies of Fearless by Max Lucado, published by Thomas Nelson
  • 2 copies of The Jumbo Shrimp Gospel (kindly donated by Katdish)
  • John Avant’s If God Were Real and Gilbert Morris’ Honor In The Dust, published by Howard Books
  • … Some more incredible books that I’m so excited about, I’m not going to even say what they are until I know they’ve been shipped to me!

Today I want to have a little blogiversary Twitter fun (with bonus giveaway entries for you).

I’ve been undecided about whether or not to do a Twitter retweet thing because it does look like self-promotion BUT I’m so excited about the books that I’m giving away that I want as many people as possible to get a chance to win one of them.

So here’s the deal:

Send out a tweet (or two, or three) telling people about the giveaway and pointing them here and somewhere in your tweet put #RtCGiveaway (that stands for Rediscovering The Church Giveaway). At the end of the day, I’m going to search Twitter for every time the #RtCGiveaway hashtag has been used and give two bonus entries into the prize draw for each time you used the tag (up to four times each – we don’t want to be spamming Twitter).

The only rules for the tweets are that they:

  • MUST have the #RtCGiveaway hashtag
  • MUST have a link to this post
  • MUST mention something about the giveaway

Apart from that, be creative. Mention one of the books, tell people to RT to get bonus entries themselves. Be your own, unique, creative selves!

I’m looking forward to seeing what all of you Tweeps can come up with!
