Welcome, 2011

We’ve crossed the line now.

The first decade of the 2000’s is over.

There’s no going back.

This millennium is rapidly approaching the dreaded teenager stage.

There are people alive now whose ages are in double digits who weren’t even conceived last century!

This year doesn’t feel much different from last year. We’re half an hour or so in and already I’m tired, a little grouchy and dreading getting up in the morning.

So what’s new?

Physically, not a lot is new and none of the absolutes have changed. God is still God, his mercies are still new every morning, he still loves us with everlasting love, salvation is still free and his promises still never change, yet psychologically everything is new.

This is not 2010 any more. That’s gone. Past. History.

This is 2011, baby!

The date today is 1/1/11

Soon it will be 1:11 on 1/1/11

I’m willing to bet that not a single person reading this blog was alive the last time the date was 1/1/11… and if you WERE alive 100 years ago then WELCOME… HOW’S YOUR SIGHT? SHOULD I MAKE THE TEXT A LITTLE BIGGER?

(tee hee hee)

It’s a new day, a new year. What’s done is done. What has come to pass has come to pass.

Today is today. This year is this year.

What are YOU going to make of it?

I suggest one of the first things you do is read this post by Michael Hyatt and answer the questions he asks truthfully.

Let’s have a great year, shall we?
