Welcome to the One Word At A Time Blog Carnival – this week’s word is: Madness.
No matter how you’ve come to be here or where you’re coming from, you’re welcome and we’d love for you to come back and visit us again soon.
The idea of the carnival is simple. We pick one word every two weeks and all write a blog post inspired by that word. It’s fascinating to see the range of different trains of thought that can come from just one word.
Below this, you’ll find a little widget called Simply Linked. All the participants add their links to the widget and that way, we can all find and read all the entries into the carnival. You’re welcome to join us, the carnival is open to anyone.

There is an odd concept that creative genius and madness often go hand-in-hand.
The legend is that the creator of the beautiful Neuschwanstein castle (pictured above), King Ludwig II of Bavaria, was in fact mad.
That’s a little difficult to prove since he was declared insane then died the next day, but let’s run with it like everyone else.
Freddie Mercury, the creative genius behind many of the songs performed by the band ‘Queen’ wrote a wonderful little piece titled, “I’m going slightly mad“. Not to be mean to him, but I suspect he might have been writing a little from personal experience. I mean, have you seen the way he dressed?
So, since I often wonder if I’m going slightly mad myself, I thought I’d have a crack at being creative and see if I’m secretly a mad genius.
What do you think, madness or just, umm, madness?
My birthday is coming soon
I hope you’ve all remembered.
It’s the most exciting day of the year
…at least until December
I really cannot understand
Why folk don’t get excited,
I mean, what’s not to be excited about
Everyone’s invited.
March 7th.
It’s on calendars worldwide.
Seriously, it’s that special!
Right between the 6th and the 8th!
(yeah, so that verse didn’t rhyme or anything whatsoever but I can’t figure out how to fix it)
I see people all around
Who just look lifeless
Come on guys, get excited.
It’s time for birthday madness!
What do you think? Genius, or just total madness?
By on .

Happy Birthday!
Thanks you, Helen.
Happy my birthday to you!
Since it’s so close to your birthday, I’m going to go with… genius.
Happy birthday, Peter! Blessings on your day and may it be a year of divine increase for you!
Thanks, Jason.
I’m not totally convinced that compliments with qualifiers are real compliments though…

Happy Birthday – You are one Mad Genius!
Beautiful Castle. The Windsor house in San Jose was also built by a mad woman.
Don’t be mad be glad and enjoy your Birthday!
Thanks, Hazel. I think.
I’d like to see the Windsor house some time… I hear it’s quite fascinating!
Peter, I wish you have a wonderful Birthday, and may God bless you way beyond your wildest expectations!
Thanks, Cris.
Blessing me beyond my wildest expectations is going to be tough though because I have some pretty wild expectations
I bet He can still surprise you

I think this entire post is a ruse to get more birthday presents.
To be honest, it’s my belief that the days from December 26th through March 6th are just there so people can earn the money to buy me presents.
It just occurred to me taht you might have been saying that because you secretly want to buy me a present.
If so, this would be stupendous:
