What is an Internet Accessibility Fanatic?

What is an internet accessibility fanatic?

I AM!

Some people are fanatical about getting everyone equal access to the internet and in this current world where so much is done online, I have to agree with them.

I think it’s wrong that you can get better deals online, make new connections online and reach more people online and yet some people don’t have the ability to get online.

My particular bent though is that I’m fanatical about people having equal ability to have a website – and a good one at that.

There is a huge difference between really great looking websites and really bad ones and the gap does not need to be as wide as it is.

Sure, there will always be people who can pay for the very best designers and the very latest technology for their sites but free software like WordPress and all of the free themes and plugins that go with it mean that anyone can produce a great site for very little cost.

I want people to be able to have their own website and make it look amazing  – at an affordable price.

I want to give people the ability to compete with the big boys on the net on a more level playing field without needing to be millionaires to do it.

Blogger.com and wordpress.com help people take a step toward that goal but having their own self-hosted website takes them a giant leap further forward.

It’s Why I’m in Business

That’s why I’m in business. I want to enable churches and charities, bloggers, groups and even small businesses to not just get a first foot onto the web but to take a giant leap forward to a place where they can have a website which represents them well in terms of looks, usability and style.

It’s not about the money for me, it’s about leveling the playing field and giving people the opportunity and the means.

I’m pretty much fanatical about it. I hate it when people either don’t have their own place online or have a poor quality place online just because no-one will help them.

I hope one day I can convince you to be fanatical about it too.

    Hi Peter!
I know you do it for a living, too, so I’ll try not to bug you too much, but I am in the process of trying to build my own WordPress blog & shop. It’s slow-going right now, but someday, I may be shrieking for help.
I always recommend you to everyone I know. Hope it helps!

Another happy customer here, Peter. Thank you so much for your quick response when I “page” you on twitter! Your help and tutoring have been amazing.

Now if you just wouldn’t be so brutal on WWF, I would really appreciate that internet access.
