Today, Hillary Rodham Clinton announced that she had entered the 2008 presidential race and that she is ‘in it to win it’.
Do I care? Well, yes…. but maybe not in the way you expect me to.
The bible clearly tells us that all authority is given by God. Nobody gets given a position of leadership without God giving it to them.
I’m not here to make any political statements one way or another but I am here to tell you this: If you want your country run by a Godly people with Godly values, you need to do two things:
 1) you need to get on your knees in prayer that God will look upon your nation and see the heart of His people and respond by appointing someone who will lead the right way
2) VOTE!
I firmly believe that you get what you ask for. Israel asked for a king. God said ‘no, you REALLY don’t want to go there’. Israel said ‘yes we do’. God said ‘no, you REALLY don’t.’ israel said, yes we do. God said… OK… you asked for it. He gave them Saul. The natural choice and a good leader, at first, but it all kind of went downhill pretty quickly.
I don’t believe in democracy, I don’t believe in any system where people get to vote for their leaders but hey, if that’s what you’ve got – work with it.
Make sure God hears your heartfelt plea for good leaders – and make sure that plea is louder than the shouts of those who want leaders who aren’t so good!
Oh… and one more thing… don’t look to politicians to be ‘spiritual leaders’. They are politicians, they have a job to do. They can do it in a Godly way but no political party can ‘save’ a nation. That’s the job of the saints – that’s YOUR job (more specifically, you can’t ‘save’ the nation but you can lead them to Christ, their Savior).
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
