Who is to blame for the lack of spirituality in your town, county or even your country? Is it the Pastors? The government? The ACLU? Is it maybe the fault of other people in your congregation or the Church worldwide? Is it God’s fault for not sending His Spirit in power?
No – it’s YOUR fault!
That may seem a little harsh, and it is, but each and every one of us has to start accepting personal responsibility.
If you are truthful with yourself, have you really put yourself in a position where God can use you? Are you at a place where you have experienced revival in your own life?
We have to take the responsibility of admitting that revival in the land starts with us.
God won’t use you unless you make yourself available for use and that means taking the time and effort to move into a deeper relationship with Him. YOU have gifts. Those gifts were given you by God for the benefit of His church. Do you know what your gifts are? have you practiced using them. Are you ready, willing and prepared for whatever God calls you to do?
Charles Spurgeon wrote:
‘We too often flog the Church when the whip should be laid on our own shoulders. We should always remember that we are a part of the Church, and that our own lack of revival is in some measure the cause of the lack of revival in the Church at large.’
He goes on to say:
‘I urge you: do nothing until you have first prayed to God, crying out, “O Lord, revive thy work.” Begin, then, by humbling yourself – giving up all hope of reviving yourself, but beginning at once with firm prayer and earnest supplication to God: “O Lord, what I cannot do, you do for me. O Lord, revive thy work!”
We need revival and it starts with you and me.
What are you going to do today?
