Obama won – What should we do?

Barack Obama is the president-elect of the USA.

Many people reading this did not want him to become president….. so what do we do?

First, accept it. This country chose the democratic process and through that process Barack Obama became elected. We are told by God to both submit to authority and that authority is given by Him and Him alone so therefore submitting to that authority is an act of submission to God.

Romans 13:1

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

Second, rejoice! You may not be able to rejoice in the the fact that Obama is president but regardless of what happens around us or to us, we should rejoice in the lord, always! Don’t let Obama’s victory cause you to stop rejoicing in God.

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Third, Pray! Pray for Barack Obama, his family and his team. A wise man told me today that he is praying that God will grab Obama and shake him up – which is totally within God’s power to do. God can make President Obama into the greatest President this country has ever had. Pray in faith.

Luke 1:37

For nothing is impossible with God.

Fourth, prepare! God IS able to change Obama’s views on things but He might not, it’s His choice. If He doesn’t, things are going to get very difficult and we need to be ready. Prayed up, bibled up, fasted up and worhipped up. This article gives a good overview of what might happen.

Ephesians 6:11-13

Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

It’s going to be an interesting 4 years!
