Today is the first day of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge.
It has been amazing to me that God has already been giving me opportunities to give and showing me what I can do to serve in the days leading up to today.
Just being willing to pray about what He wants me to do in these 12 days and opening my heart more to look for needs is all God needs to start responding! Praise the Lord!
A comment on Friday’s post from Tina says that her biological mother reached out to her on Wednesday, for the first time in her life! God is obviously moving there.
Things are happening and lives are being changed already!
What is God doing in your life? How are you going to give/serve today?
Part of our job as members of the family of God is to encourage and uplift each other. Two ways you can do that are by sharing what God is doing through comments on this blog or through writing about your own experiences on your blog or through email.
Sharing your experiences may also help to give other people ideas of what they can do!
Let’s face this challenge together!
I was chatting on Facebook to someone who is doing the Challenge and they said this:
It’s amazing what God is doing through this!
Hi Peter,
As I have prayed leading up to this challenge God has brought many things to mind to do. Just that part has been great. Today instead of spending time at home I helped a woman at our church move. She is having back surgery in January and lived in a 3rd floor apartment. She couldn’t continue to climb the stairs. Her husband had a stroke at the age of 18 and only has the use of one arm. I cleaned the old apartment and then help unpack her apartment. When we left they were completely moved and unpacked. It felt great to give to them in their time of need. GOD BLESS!
Awesome Sherri.
Thank you for sharing – and guess what, helping her move was way healthier for you than staying at home too…. which is another benefit to you!
Today my wife helped a co-worker by working her shift for her instead of coming to a company Christmas dinner with me. It was a real sacrifice for us both because it is rare that we get to go out to nice meals together and this was going to be our only opportunity before next year for any kind of date together.
It may seem a small sacrifice to you but to us it was something that was big to us.
That’s the thing about sacrifice, about giving. It can be different for each person. It’s between you and God. What is He asking YOU to give?
I got up earlier than I usually do today so that I could help my wife get the house cleaned up for lunch guests. Nothing too earth shattering but it’s all about baby steps, right?
Kevin,
Giving is giving. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is. Sometimes the smallest things have the biggest impact on people.
I’m sure it was appreciated!
I hope you enjoyed your time with your lunch guests.
Thanks for taking the time to post comments guys.
