This is Epifanio, the little boy we now have the honor of sponsoring.
For the last ten years or so, we have sponsored a little man in Honduras named Luis but World Vision, who we sponsored him through, have now completed their work in that area of Honduras and so it was time for us to sponsor a new child.
Epifanio is from Bolivia and, at seven years old, is just a few months older than my oldest daughter.
My family and I are very excited to be able to share to a small degree in Epifanio’s life and to help World Vision change his life.
This week, my blog is going to be devoted to promoting child sponsorship. I have some awesome guest posts to share with you and my entry for the blog carnival on Tuesday is even going to bend itself around to include discussing this important work.
If you don’t already sponsor a child, I hope that by the end of the week I can convince you to make the sacrifice and become a child sponsor and change your life and that child’s forever.
If you want to sponsor a child, here are just some of the agencies you can sponsor through:
We sponsor two girls through Food for the Hungry. We initially sponsored a boy for several years. When he left school to get a job, he was no longer eligible for the program. We miss his letters.
Therein lies one of the true joys of being a child sponsor – welcoming a child in another country into your family.
Look out for the guest post tomorrow which talks about how one family became very attached to their child sponsor!
Thanks for coming by and commenting this morning!
I just got paperwork from I Love Baseball. I'm sponsoring a boy named Henrri who Chris Sullivan is working with. Seems like a great kid. I'm looking forward to getting to know him better. Even if he is a Red Sox fan…
